Hello Again

It’s been a long time since I last wrote here. Honestly, there are days I completely forget this blog even exists. But yesterday, I started scrolling through some of my old posts, and it made me smile. I loved revisiting those memories, the little things I did with my oldest daughter, the moments we shared. It reminded me how nice it is to have those stories written down. I think I want to start keeping a diary again, something my kids can look back on one day, so they’ll always know how much I love them and how special those times were to me.

A lot has happened since my last post. Back then, I was pregnant with my second daughter, and now we have three girls! Little M isn’t so little anymore; she’s a teenager now, studying for her GCSEs.

My biggest inspiration, the one who taught me all these crafts, my mum, passed away a year and a half ago. The only thing that hasn’t changed is that I still crochet and knit, remembering her with every stitch.

Today, her absence hit me hard, in a way I didn’t expect. We’re planning an event with some friends, and while going through the details, I suddenly thought, “When I get home, I’ll call Mum and tell her all about it.” Then it hit me, that I can’t. Just when you think you’ve gotten used to the absence, moments like this remind you that you never really do.

Maybe that was another little push for me to start writing here again. And yes — here I am.

Summer Flowers Shawl

This is a very easy and relaxing project that can be completed in a few hours with some basic crochet stitches. When you start making, it may seems it will take hours and hours to finish your shawl. As you continue, 2 flowers are decreased in each row so you won`t understand when you finished your shawl :)  Yarn and hook : You can use double knitting or any other light weight yarn with a suitable hook.  I prefer making this scarf with mercerized cotton yarn and 3.5 mm hook. To show better for the tutorial I used aran weight yarn with 4.00 mm hook. Abbreviations :  ch : chain dc : double crochet sst : slip stitch 1 - ch6, work 2 dc in the first chain space, ch3, work 3 dc in the same chain space.  2 - (ch4 and turn. work 3 dc in 3 chain space, ch3, work 3 dc in the same space.) * Repeat * until it measures approx 50 inch (125cm) . This will be the length of the scarf. You can make longer or shorter. First row of flo...
