Mushroom Pattern by Principe Del Crochet

I saw this amazing mushroom on Principe Del Crochet`s blog  and fell in love with it. In fact, it was hard to choose from the patterns on the blog but the mushroom reminded me my friend so I made it first. It is such a fun and easy project that you finish within an hour. I also asked permission to translate the pattern into English so that everyone might try making it. You can find the original of the pattern here . If you make it please use hashtag #setasenelcamino, tag me and Principe Del Crochet  on Instagram. sc: single crochet inc: make 2 single crochet in the same stitch dec: crochet 2 single crochet stitches together The pattern pieces are made in a continuous spiral, without joining rounds or turning. Yay for more bunnies!

I love bunnies, such cute and fun animals. That is why I always refer to bunnies when I am talking about my kids. And now good news! Yay for more bunnies! My sister is pregnant and soon we will meet her very own blue bunny. As an auntie I had to make some toys for him. I made a bunny teething ring which   fabric design version is seen all around. I really love the idea, basic but fun! I also made a bunny rattle from Lucia  Lanuka`s pattern which is also very popular. I sent my presents, including  some lovely little man clothes and a blanket I made,  to my sister before he arrives. I dont have photo of all of them but I am thinking and looking for more boys amigurumi toys which I will share later.  I will be making more for him and this time I will give them to him myself (I hope) when I meet him (probably next summer).  That is con of living in another country. You cant catch the news on time. :(  I have my notes and the pattern for the teething ri...

Amigurumi Projects

When girls sleep in the evening, in peace and quiet I have my yarn and crochet or knitting needles. I don`t have only one project at a time, there is a basket on my table full of projects waiting their turn to be finished. Also, some other is in my head jumping up and down singing "knit me too, knit me too". :) Sometimes I fall asleep right after the girls without no craft time. Nowadays I am addicted to amigurumi. I am making dolls, rattles, softies as a gift for friends. I get inspired for new pattern ideas while making them, I have my notes but need time to try and write the instructions. They need to wait for a while until I finish some of my projects. :) Here is some I have made. ~ I love, love this doll.  It is an easy one that you don`t need to sew legs, you join them :) Sewing is my weak point with amigurumi, I hurt my fingers.  I have made a few differences from the pattern. I made proper hand part larger than arm. I didn`t make a proper dress, I made the a...

Inspiration : Crochet afghans with embroidery patterns

When I start or finish a project, I send photos to my sister and sister-in-law. I also share some of my to do list which is getting longer and longer each day. After me sharing everyday with every step of my projects, my sister-in-law also started feeling like crafty. She wanted to make some blankets. What she needed was an easy but cute pattern. I have seen loads of amazing patterns while I was searching for her but I felt in love with the idea of using embroidery patterns in crochet afghans. It is great for using leftover yarns but also worth buying new set of yarns to make it :) That is on my to do list but I don`t know when I can make it. I want to make it as bed spreads for the Little M and Little N.  Here are some photos that may inspire you and also remind myself of my next project.  Source  Source  Source  It is a great way of turning our favorite embroidery pattern into an afghan that we can snuggle in cold and enjoy it :)    ...

Hooded Car Seat Blanket

I read many books, websites, mums ideas on forums while I was pregnant with Little M. One of the best books I have read so far about babies and also toddlers is written by Dr.Harvey Karp. (The Happiest Baby on the Block, The Happies Toddler on the Block)  Dr. Karp says that babies are born 3 months early, they need 4th trimester. Some babies can adopt the world quickly, some don`t and that causes colic. He came with a solution of 5 S system  ( swaddling, side/stomach position, shushing, swinging and sucking)  to help colic symptoms.  Some people think swaddling baby is an old fashioned thing to do. But I believe it the opposite way. I swaddled Little M for a while and then we used the sleeping sack knitted by mum. My Granny knitted the same one for us, my mum used it for 4 kids :) And she made the same design for me to use and remember Granny. Little M could move her hands freely in the sleeping sack but didn`t wake herself up. She was used to being swaddled and...

Meet my assistant : Minuet! :)

According to Wikipedia minuet means  a social dance of French origin for two people, usually in 3/4 time.  But for me, it means my new assistant :)  When I opened my shop on etsy, I had no clue about how to take photos in my house. Downstairs doesn`t get most of sunshine because of the huge tree in front of the house, upstairs is perfect in the morning to get sunlight but it isn`t big enough to shoot photos from a distance.  I took photos upstairs but they were not good enough to show my items. I thought I needed help, an assistant. I told my husband about it and decided to check if we could find a mannequin at car boot sale or charity shop.  One day he came with her! He found my assistant hiding in the attic of our community centre. She looked so alone and BLACK! Black wasn`t my first option to shoot photos for my shop. But I was happy, at least I had her. I choose one of my shirts and let her wear it. I tried shooting photos with her but d...

Lavender Pyramids!

I have met new friends recently and I invited them to my house so we can get to know about each other more. They have kids same age as Little M so she will have fun time with the kids. I have a tea party tomorrow with that 7 lovely ladies. I hope to post the recipes that I will make for them on my blog after Friday! Who doesn`t love meeting with new friends? :) As it is the first time they will visit my house, I wanted to make it special and decided to give some small handmade gifts for each of them. At the beginning I was planning to make something with crochet. I checked my pinterest , searched for more on other people`s boards and found some new projects to save on my boards. At the end of 2 or 3 hours I saved many projects to do but had no idea about the gifts. :) Sounds familiar with the pinterest? Finally I decided to make pincushions, but after a while changed my idea of making lavender sachets instead. I had a bag of lavender that I had bought a few months ago a...
